Shot blasting (with the use of shot) is used in industrial facilities, mainly to remove corrosion, old paintwork, scale, bumps and other flaws from the surface.
The most popular way to achieve these goals is cleaning using steel shot, the shape of which can be cast and chipped. Cast shot has a spherical shape, chipped shot has the shape of an irregular polyhedron.
Experts note that the particles of cast shot have a large mass compared to crushed shot with the same size. At the same time, the greater the number of particles contained in a kilogram of product, the higher the speed of surface cleaning is achieved and, accordingly, the processing time is reduced. In this case, the size of the shot must be sufficient to fulfill the set technological task.
